LEGAL NOTICE
ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE ARLINGTON FIRE DISTRICT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Annual Election of the Arlington Fire District will take place on the 9th day of December 2025 at the Arlington Fire District Headquarters, 11 Burnett Boulevard, Poughkeepsie, NY for Wards 3, 4, and 6 and at the Red Oaks Mill Fire Company, 213 Vassar Road, Poughkeepsie, NY for Wards 1, 2, and 5 between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. for the purpose of electing:
One (1) Fire Commissioner for the term of five (5) years commencing on January 1, 2026 and ending on December 31, 2030. All voters living in the Arlington Fire District and registered with the Dutchess County Board of Elections on or before November 17, 2025 shall be eligible to vote.
Candidates wishing to run for Fire Commissioner for the five (5) year term must file their petition with the District Secretary of the Arlington Fire District, 11 Burnett Boulevard, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 no later than twenty days before the election (November 19, 2025) by end of business day. Petitions must be subscribed by a minimum of twenty-five (25) registered voters with the Dutchess County Board of Elections and live in the Arlington Fire District. Petitions are available on the Arlington Fire District website, www.afd.org or by contacting the District Secretary at (845) 486-6300.
