Long-term lease for Court parking negotiated with Elks Lodge, adjacent to 1 Overocker

Town Board completes in-house SEQRA environmental review for 242 Boardman Road site and authorizes schematic design (10-12 weeks) and SEQRA review from LaBella Associates for Police & Courts facility at 1 Overocker Road.

Town Engineers complete Building Condition Analysis of 242 Boardman Road.

Presentation and public comment at Town Board workshop meeting on January 14.

February 2026


Town Board votes on contract, appraisal, and bond resolution for 242 Boardman Road, with anticipated closing on the property in mid-April, with Poughkeepsie Day School paying rent through end of school year, moving out by July 31.

February - April 2026 (10 weeks)


LaBella Associates to complete schematic design for 1 Overocker with consultation and oversight of Police & Courts Committee.

Mid - April 2026


Town anticipates closing on 242 Boardman Road and issuing 12-month Bond Anticipation Notes (short-term borrowing) until work is complete, then converting to long-term bonds for the exact amount needed.

April - July 2026


Design for Town Hall renovations completed.

April - May 2026


Town Board votes on bond resolution for design and construction of Police & Courts facility in this time frame (SEQRA reviews must be completed before bonding)

May - July 2026 (14 weeks)


LaBella Associates completes design development for Police & Courts at 1 Overocker. Construction manager for both projects hired in this time frame.

July - October (16 weeks)


LaBella Associates completes construction documents for Police & Courts at 1 Overocker.

July 2026 - January 2027


Roof, HVAC, and other repairs and renovations completed at 242 Boardman Road.

November 2026 - January 2027 (6 weeks)


Bidding and award period for Police & Courts at 1 Overocker.

February - March 2027


Town Hall moves to 242 Boardman; work commences on Police & Courts at 1 Overocker

March 2027 - August 2028 (18 months)


Construction phase for Police & Courts at 1 Overocker.

Police & Courts move into new facility.

Town sells former Police & Courts building on Tucker Drive and uses proceeds to offset project costs.
